HarbourCats Losers, 5-4, Versus El Paso
|
The El Paso Chihuahuas finished off the Victoria HarbourCats, 5-4. Much of the credit belonged to center fielder Marcelino Reyes. Reyes was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times for the Chihuahuas. Ezra Varney, the winner, is now 6-1. He struck out 5 and walked 1 over 6 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. Getting the save was Brock Winger, his 8th.
Ibrahim Izaguirre drove in one run for El Paso. The 25-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Ara Lester. It was his 41st RBI of the season.
"We want to make a habit of winning," Izaguirre said after the game.
The setback makes Victoria 42-45.
