Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for 66ers
The Inland Empire 66ers, behind a great outing from Logan Gates, who is tied for 7th in the PCL in innings pitched with 110.1, defeated the Reno Aces, 2-0, at Blues Stadium. Inland Empire reliever Simon Damstra picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Twain Polston took the loss. At 53-39, Inland Empire is in third place in the Pacific Coast League Pacific Division.

Koichi Miyashita came through with a big-time hit for Inland Empire. The shortstop smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We didn't score," said losing manager Ross Winfrey. "That was the problem."
