The New Orleans Baby Cakes had to overcome a big game from Evansville right fielder Lyle Stephenson to leave BB&T Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-5. Stephenson went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Karl Adams got the save, his 2nd in 5 chances. The second-place Triplets now sit at 51-41.

Napoleon Scorza came through with a big-time hit for New Orleans. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

Scorza offered a curt "no comment" when asked to discuss the win after the game.
