A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Reno Aces and Inland Empire 66ers.
Demon Silva powered the Reno Aces to a win over the Inland Empire 66ers. The final score was 7-2. The Reno first baseman, who is tied for 7th in the PCL with a .518 slugging percentage, was a force to be reckoned with. He banged out 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. The win elevated the Aces to 49-42.
With Reno leading 4-0 in the bottom of the seventh, Silva came up to bat against Inland Empire pitcher Trevor Gracia. Silva hit a fastball to left-center for a bases-clearing double. His 13th double of the season put the Aces on top, 7-0.
"Demon is still learning," said Aces manager Ross Winfrey. "The sky's the limit for him."
