Torgerson Breezes to Shutout Victory
The El Paso Chihuahuas manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Tacoma Rainiers. The Chihuahuas were overpowered by Tacoma starter Dave Torgerson, who hurled his club to victory, 10-0.

"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Kelly Ury said.

Over 9 innings, Torgerson blanked El Paso on 5 hits with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Torgerson said.

"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

In the current season in 7 starts, Dave Torgerson has a record of 2-4 with 37 strikeouts in 40.2 innings and a 4.43 ERA.
