The El Paso Chihuahuas got a sterling performance from pitcher Skyler Perret, but the Inland Empire 66ers still prevailed, 6-5. Perret threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Inland Empire pitcher Russell Dickey earned the win, hiking his record to 2-1. Scott Saarela suffered the loss. The 4th-place 66ers improved to 58-50.

Inland Empire center fielder Carson Schmitt contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a changeup to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 110th hit of the season and put the 66ers ahead, 3-1.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Schmitt, "and then get after it again."
