Flying Squirrels Rally For Late Win Over Aces
The St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels got a strong performance from pitcher Alexander Lorimer, who stymied the Alexandria offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Blue Wahoos Stadium. Dwight Dunham came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. Savino Santiago earned save number 21 this season.

St. Petersburg needed the clutch hitting of José Mari Cossa to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Flying Squirrels on top, 4-2. For the game, Cossa had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We'll savor this win," Cossa told the St. Petersburg Today, "then get ready for the next game."

The second-place Flying Squirrels raised their record to 56-46.
