Viramontes Excels, But Missions Win
|
Despite a fine performance by second baseman Seth Viramontes, the Frisco RoughRiders lost to the San Antonio Missions, 10-5. Viramontes belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. San Antonio, at 42-61, occupies 8th place in the Southern League Texas Division.
The Missions got a big at-bat from second baseman Elijah Popek. For the game, Popek was 1-5 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 1st triple of the season gave San Antonio a 3-1 lead.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Popek said. "We did a good job of that today."
