Winnipeg got a terrific game from catcher Roger Deonarine. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Evansville, 9-5. Deonarine went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. At 70-42, Evansville is in first place in the Pacific Coast League American Divison.

Tied up with the Goldeyes in the top of the fifth inning, the Triplets got a boost from pinch hitter Jevon Walker. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Walker saw a 1-0 fastball from Dan Rush and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Evansville on top, 4-3.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Walker told the Evansville Daily.
