Wally Byron had a strong outing for the Winnipeg Goldeyes against the Oklahoma City Wranglers at NBT Bank Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 6-3 win. Byron got the win, improving to 3-8. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Winnipeg goes to 45-67, Oklahoma City to 71-41.

The Goldeyes got a big hit from center fielder Lee Britton. Facing Oklahoma City pitcher Axel Vásquez in the bottom of the seventh, Britton pounded a bases-clearing triple to right-center. His 1st triple of the season put the Goldeyes ahead, 6-0.

Britton told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
