Inland Empire 66ers starter Jared Casey turned in a top-notch performance against the Edmonton Edge at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The result was a win for the 66ers, 5-1. The winner was Casey. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Peter McKnight. Inland Empire is now 60-55. Edmonton is 58-57.

Avan Scott had a big grand slam home run for the 66ers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Inland Empire leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Peter McKnight and punished it. The result was his 12th home run of the season, which put the 66ers on top, 5-0.

"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Scott. "I think we showed that here."
