Sacramento pitcher Derek Darlington had a large part in his team beating the New Orleans Baby Cakes, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Sacramento reliever Deelon Donaldson picked up the win to move to 6-2. Jordan Pineda suffered the loss. Sacramento bumps their record to 70-46 with the win.

Sacramento took a 3-2 lead on Kieran Purdin's 11th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Purdin hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New Orleans pitcher Jordan Pineda visibly frustrated.

"I can't say enough about Derek," said Sacramento manager Boone Broyles. "He stepped up when we needed him."
