ThunderSharks Lose at Home, 9-6
The Inland Empire 66ers trumped the Honolulu ThunderSharks, 9-6, at Smith's Ballpark. Inland Empire designated hitter Marcel Genet was terrific. He went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Inland Empire pitcher Nathan Sanderson got the win. He's now 4-2. Gilroy Hovanec was tagged with the loss. Zach Casley closed the game out for Inland Empire, earning his 6th save.

Genet contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Inland Empire in the top of the ninth. With his team trailing 6-5, Genet took a slider from Gilroy Hovanec and stroked the home run to right. His 15th home run of the season allowed the 66ers to leap in front, 9-6.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Genet told the Inland Empire Observer.

Inland Empire, at 62-58, occupies 5th place in the Pacific Coast League Pacific Division.
