Rainiers Deal New Orleans 7-3 Defeat
|
Spike Clark led Tacoma to a win over New Orleans. The final score was 7-3. The designated hitter collected 2 extra-base hits, including 1 triple and 1 double. He also delivered 3 RBI. Hernando Roa got credit for the win, improving to 7-8. He allowed 2 runs on 9 hits in 6 innings. The 4th-place Rainiers lifted their record to 64-60.
Tacoma grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Clark hit a bases-clearing triple off Curt Peterson. His 1st triple of the season put the Rainiers out in front, 5-2.
"Don't let his youth fool you," said Rainiers manager Mick Butler. "Spike knows what he's doing out there."
