Threshers Pull Out Late-Game Win, 1-0
|
Clearwater left-hander Vince Orso helped his team edge Fort Lauderdale by the score of 1-0 in 10 innings. Orso kept the opposing lineup in check. Rainer Taylor claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 1-4. The Threshers now have a record of 16-39.
Clearwater took advantage of an error in the top of the tenth inning. The game was tied, 0-0, when Paul Maskorzewski hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Threshers in front, 1-0.
"This win should put a little bounce in our step," said Maskorzewski.
