A good performance from catcher Joel Marler helped the Winnipeg Goldeyes defeat the New Orleans Baby Cakes, 6-3. Marler was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Goldeyes. Winnipeg now owns a record of 54-78.

Jesse Scott was 1 for 4 for Winnipeg. The 25-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Stewart Brady. It was his 51st hit of the season.
