Honolulu Defeated by Nashville, 3-1
|
The Nashville Sounds picked up a win at First Tennessee Park, taking down the Honolulu ThunderSharks, 3-1. Starting pitcher Ted Ballejos was a big reason why. The winner was Ballejos. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Herman Stoufer. Deacon DiFrancesco recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 23 for 25.
The Sounds got a big at-bat from first baseman Kelly Victor. For the game, Victor went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Nashville a 1-0 lead.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Sounds manager Landon Murray. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
With the win over Honolulu, the Sounds improved to 62-72.
