The Shreveport Engineers got a stellar performance from pitcher Brandon Payton, who handcuffed the Tennessee offense en route to a win, 7-2, at Engineers Ballpark. Payton got the win, improving to 14-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. With the win, the Engineers improved to 80-32.

Arian Guille helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Engineers.

"Brandon has got a slow heartbeat," said Shreveport manager Kip Fors. "He doesn't panic or anything."
