Biscuits Secure 6-3 Win
|
The Montgomery Biscuits finished off the Chattanooga Scouts, 6-3. Much of the credit belonged to second baseman Eli Curlee. Curlee went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times for the Biscuits. Kevin Yeamans earned the win to go to 7-5. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. The Biscuits, at 76-38, sit in third place in the Southern League Southeast Division.
Bastian Albrecht went 3-5 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Montgomery. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring single off Nicolas Franklin. It was his 93rd hit of the season.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Curlee told the Montgomery Citizen. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
