Western Excels, But RockHounds Win
Despite a fine performance by shortstop Robin Western, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals lost to the Midland RockHounds, 10-8. Western was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Midland reliever Landon McCrie picked up the win, while Luke Scarpitti took the loss for Northwest Arkansas. Isaiah Pascuzzi got the save, his 7th in 9 chances.

Midland used the timely hitting of Sheriff Valle to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the RockHounds on top, 10-7. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

In postgame comments to the Midland Chronicle, Valle said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

Midland raised its record to 60-56 with the win.
