Engineers Stop Aces, 6-3
|
The Shreveport Engineers defeated the Alexandria Aces, 6-3, in part because of first baseman Sebastian Tressler. Tressler was 2-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times for the Engineers. Andy Scott closed it out for Shreveport, earning his 19th save. At 75-39, the Engineers are currently first in the Southern League Texas Division.
Shreveport used a well-timed hit by Inigo Villalobos to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Engineers ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I think it just wasn't our night," said Alexandria skipper Carson Lee.
