Flying Squirrels Snatch Late Win
|
St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels starter Timothy Murphey turned in a top-notch performance against the Mississippi Braves at The Diamond. The result was a win for the Flying Squirrels, 5-1. St. Petersburg bumps their record to 61-52 with the win.
The Flying Squirrels got a big at-bat from left fielder Tristan McCans. For the game, McCans was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the eighth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave St. Petersburg a 3-1 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," McCans said.
