The St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels spoiled a good performance by Rocket City designated hitter Levi McPherson, bumping off Rocket City, 5-4, at The Diamond. McPherson went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. St. Petersburg occupies second place in the Southern League Southeast Division at 76-38.

The decisive blow was delivered by Rex Mincey in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher P.J. Young to win the game for St. Petersburg. The home crowd went nuts.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Mincey said in his postgame press conference.
