Starting pitcher Brandon Payton was a major factor in the 6-1 Shreveport Engineers triumph over the Corpus Christi Hooks. Payton yielded 1 run over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 11-3.

Sesc Suastegui helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 3-0, Engineers.
