K.J. Rice was a major factor in the 9-7 Midland win over Frisco. The RockHounds left fielder went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Jake Mayer picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-1. Peyton Goforth was tagged with the loss. After today's action, Midland sits at 58-70; Frisco slips to 80-48.

Midland won the game in part because of Jesse Lawton. The shortstop ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the RockHounds ahead, 9-7. For the game, Lawton had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
