Catch Take Down Kumquats, 5-3
|
Led by Peter Redman, the Oviedo Catch downed the Kissimmee Kumquats, 5-3, in 10 innings. Redman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Catch. Ferdinand Lane wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save. By defeating Kissimmee, the last-place Catch improved to 9-49.
Redman had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch slider from Lombard Morrow, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Catch a 5-3 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Redman.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Redman. "But we got it done."
