Thanks in large part to shortstop Reggie Peterson, the Kissimmee Kumquats beat the Daytona Beach Hurricanes, 10-4. Peterson was 4 for 5 with 4 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. Brody Lake earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. He upped his record to 5-4. Kissimmee, at 28-31, occupies 6th place in the Florida Rookie League Northwest Division.

Kissimmee used the timely hitting of Rowan Sivlee to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Kumquats on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Sivlee told the Kissimmee Daily. "But we take nothing for granted."
