Salinas Homers Twice in 9-4 Threshers Win
|
Good production from second baseman Júlio César Salinas helped the Clearwater Threshers topple the Hialeah Gales, 9-4. Salinas belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Threshers. Roberto Aquino, now 5-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3.2 innings. The 6th-place Threshers now have a record of 31-31.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Lucio Borrero came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Hialeah pitcher Kenny Marte, he hit a 0-1 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Clearwater on top, 5-4.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Salinas told the Clearwater Herald.
