The Gainesville Hogs and Oviedo Catch played an entertaining game for Ballpark of Oviedo patrons.
Gainesville pitcher Henry Allan had a large part in his team beating the Oviedo Catch, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Gainesville reliever Louis Amato picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Jacob Chapman was saddled with the loss. Pierce Chambers closed out the game, earning his 27th save.
Evan Adkins came through with a big-time hit for Gainesville. The left fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It's a mindset," said Allan. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
With the win, Gainesville has a record of 40-28. Oviedo falls to 23-45.
