Canucks Need Extra Innings to Top Tigers, 11-8
|
Gilles Boyce impressed in the 11-8 Abbotsford win over Connecticut. Boyce went 3-6 with a triple, 2 singles, and 3 walks. He scored 4 runs. Jaylen Matheson finished the game for Abbotsford and earned his 1st save. Their 35-35 record puts the Canucks 7th in the Northwest League North Division.
Abbotsford used a clutch hit from Aniston Marks to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the 15th inning to put the Canucks ahead, 9-8. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
In postgame comments, Boyce said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
