Aqua Sox Beat Spoonbills, 3-1

The Pompano Beach Aqua Sox downed the Hollywood Spoonbills, 3-1, at Champion Stadium. Stellar pitching by Ralph Scott had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Dave Hodges picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-2. Jordan Ballesteros, who is tied for 8th in the FLA in innings pitched with 76.2, was tagged with the loss. With the win over Hollywood, the Aqua Sox improved to 45-22.
Pompano Beach second baseman R.J. Joseph said he just wanted to make contact when he came to bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the sixth. He did even better -- Joseph hit a 2-run home run to stake Pompano Beach to a 2-0 lead. His 7th home run of the season came off Hollywood pitcher Jordan Ballesteros.
"Ralph was in tempo tonight," said Pompano Beach skipper Lance Moyer.
