Almost There: Mesa On Cusp of DS Triumph After 3-1 Win
The Mesa Saguaros moved to within one game of the Regional Championship Series, downing the Florence Swordfish on the road at Goodyear Ballpark by a score of 3-1. Saguaros right-hander Hoot Davis had a strong outing. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Saguaros a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Davis was in the zone, shutting down Florence hitters over 7 innings. Davis, who threw 95 pitches, allowed 1 run on 4 hits. He also tallied 6 punchouts.

Davis told a Mesa Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
