Kumquats Suffer 2-1 Setback
|
Ahwatukee Roughnecks starter Jake Robertson pitched a strong game against the Kissimmee Kumquats at Bright House Field, leading the Roughnecks to victory, 2-1. At 25-44, the Roughnecks are currently 7th in the Arizona Rookie League South Division.
The Roughnecks benefited from a costly error in the top of the sixth. With Sandy Carlson at bat and Ahwatukee leading 1-0, the Kissimmee miscue allowed Ahwatukee to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Carlson told a Ahwatukee Times reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
