Pembroke Pines Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
|
The Pembroke Pines Herons moved to within one game of the Divisional Series, downing the visiting Cape Coral Hammerheads at Charlotte Sports Park by a score of 2-1. Herons left-hander Paul Savinsky had a strong outing in which he threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Herons a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Wild Card Series.
Savinsky allowed no runs over 5.1 innings. He also racked up 7 strikeouts.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Savinsky.
Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Joker Marchant Stadium in Cape Coral.
