8-3 Scouts Win Evens Series With Flying Squirrels
|
The Chattanooga Scouts and the St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels will take the Wild Card Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Scouts beat the Flying Squirrels, 8-3, at The Diamond to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Chattanooga designated hitter Kelvin Cruz went 1-2 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.
In the top of the third, Cruz had one of his most important at-bats: a 2-run double off John Hansen that staked the Scouts to a 3-1 lead.
"It was a solid team effort," said Cruz after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Diamond in St. Petersburg.
