Silverados, Giants Play 10 to Settle Game 3, Napa Now Leads Series 2-1
|
With left fielder Bonbon Mateo leading the charge, the Napa Silverados got past the San Jose Giants, 4-3, in extra innings in Game 3 of the Regional Championship Series today. Mateo was 3 for 4 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs at San Jose Municipal Stadium as Napa managed to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Napa used the timely hitting of Rito Salcido to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Silverados on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Exciting game to play in," said Mateo. "Getting the win makes it even better."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at San Jose Municipal Stadium in San Jose.
