Wild Card Series Game 1 Victory for Melton and Quebec
|
The Quebec Metros started the Wild Card Series in style, downing the visiting Erie SeaWolves at Metros Ballpark by a score of 5-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Metros right-hander Conlan Melton threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball.
The SeaWolves had trouble solving Melton, who surrendered 1 run on 5 hits over 8 innings.
"When Conlan is on, he can really move the ball around," said Quebec manager Zeke Butler.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Metros Ballpark in Quebec City.
