Tacoma Tops Winnipeg, 7-3, Claims 2-1 Series Lead
With starter R.J. Torres leading the charge, the Tacoma Rainiers defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 7-3, in Game 3 of the Wild Card Series. The right-hander threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball at NBT Bank Stadium to help Tacoma take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Eddie Croxen came through with a big-time hit for Tacoma. The designated hitter smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Torres, cracking a smile.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at NBT Bank Stadium in Winnipeg.
