Peña, Sidewinders Wallop 66ers in Game 4 of WCS
|
On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Inland Empire 66ers team, the Tucson Sidewinders had a tough assignment. Juan Peña delivered.
The Sidewinders third baseman was unstoppable for the visitors, as he was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 6-2. Peña, 23, earned accolades for his efforts. The win means Tucson now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Mario Iñiguez? The Tucson second baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Sidewinders on top, 3-0. For the game, Iñiguez had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Iñiguez called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in San Bernardino.
