Aces Clip River Cats, 2-1, in WCS Contest
|
Already down in the Wild Card Series, the Reno Aces put on their best show, beating the Sacramento River Cats by a final score of 2-1. Brandon Sperling was special. He threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball. Reno now trails Sacramento 3-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Sperling confounded Sacramento hitters. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed no runs on 3 hits.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Sperling.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Blues Stadium in Reno.
