Divisional Series Game 1 Victory for Ruffing and State College
The Divisional Series got off to a quiet start today, with the host State College Spikes taking a low-scoring 3-1 win over the Oil City Oilers. State College right-hander Michael Ruffing was marvelous at Bowman Field. The Spikes now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Louis Leland chipped in for State College with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Ruffing said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bowman Field in Williamsport.
