Inland Empire Tops Victoria, 8-2, Claims 2-1 Series Lead
|
Victoria had trouble with Inland Empire starter Adam Mann, who frustrated HarbourCats hitters, as the 66ers cruised to victory, 8-2, in Game 3 of the Divisional Series. The 66ers now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series, thanks in large part to the right-handed Mann, who controlled Victoria throughout the contest and threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball.
In the top of the second, Inland Empire catcher Ryan Artiles had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and one out, Artiles stroked a 2-run home run to right. It made the score 2-0, Inland Empire. For the game, he was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Artiles said. "We did a good job of that today."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Security Service Field in Victoria.
