Raucous People's Natural Gas Field Crowd Propels Curve to 4-0 Victory; Series Tied at 1
|
The Altoona Curve knotted up the Divisional Series at People's Natural Gas Field, thanks in large part to starter Jim Tschopp. Tschopp quieted the Lincoln Bighorns, enabling Altoona to grab the 4-0 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.
In the bottom of the second, Altoona designated hitter Sebastian Ceja had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Ceja stroked a 2-run double to center. It made the score 2-0, Altoona. For the game, he was 1-2 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"The competition leap this year was tough to adjust to and I feel like there has been another jump in the playoffs," said Ceja, a rookie this season. "You're only playing the best now and everyone has time to rest and prepare for you."
Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at ONEOK Field in Lincoln.
