Chihuahuas Even With Baby Cakes After Extra-Innings Win
The El Paso Chihuahuas went the distance and then some at Zephyr Field to drag themselves back into a tie with the New Orleans Baby Cakes.

It took 10 innings to settle Game 2 of the Regional Championship Series, but El Paso eventually took the 3-1 win behind the efforts of pitcher Aiden Jankowski. Jankowski threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball to aid the El Paso cause. The clubs are now tied 1-1 in their best-of-7 series.

El Paso needed the clutch hitting of Máximo Tellez to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Chihuahuas on top, 3-1. For the game, Tellez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Jankowski said.

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Southwest University park in El Paso.
