Regional Championship Series Game 1 Victory for Humphries and Shreveport
The Shreveport Engineers started the Regional Championship Series in style, downing the visiting Montgomery Biscuits at Engineers Ballpark by a score of 4-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Engineers right-hander Forrest Humphries threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 run.

Cody Nguyen dealt the Biscuits a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with a runner on 1st and Shreveport leading 2-1, Nguyen hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring double.

Shreveport manager Kip Fors commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Engineers Ballpark in Shreveport.
