Halifax designated hitter Mick McCall played a vital role in his team's 5-0 conquest of Somerset. He went 2 for 4 with a home run for Halifax. The win went to Vinnie Knauss in relief, making him now 3-1. Brian Hoffman took the loss for Somerset. The 4th-place Frigates go to 16-16.

With Halifax leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, McCall hit a fastball from Brian Hoffman for a solo home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Frigates ahead, 2-0.

McCall told a Halifax Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
