Wichita beat Binghamton at Regions Field, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Powell Short. He was 3-4 with 3 singles. He scored 3 runs. Jacoby Renbarger was called on to finish, recording his 6th save. The 'W' lifts Wichita's record to 17-12.

Had Sol Kelly not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Kelly hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Pilots.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Ron Parks.
