RubberDucks Lasso 6-0 Victory
|
The Akron RubberDucks beat the Portland Sea Dogs, 6-0. Akron pitcher and Boston, Massachusetts, native J.R. Blume led the way. Timmy Hiett closed the door for Akron, picking up his 1st save of the year. The RubberDucks are now 18-13.
In the bottom of the sixth, Akron designated hitter Hernando Brea had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Brea stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 2-0, Akron. For the game, he went 1-4.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Akron manager Eddie Hansen.
