The Somerset Patriots overcame a pretty good performance by Bowie right fielder Everett Johnson, beating the Baysox, 4-3, at Arm & Hammer Park. Johnson went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Somerset reliever Gabriel Frazer picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. B.J. Rogers was saddled with the loss. The Baysox, now 10-19, have lost 4 in a row.

Somerset third baseman Belmiro Barcello contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 8th hit of the season and put the Patriots ahead, 4-0.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Bowie manager Mike Pascarella.
