Lancaster turned a good effort from starter Owen Watkins into a win over the Altoona Curve at People's Natural Gas Field. The final score was 7-0. Watkins went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 4-3. Lancaster is now 13-19. Altoona is 11-21.
Lancaster used a well-timed hit by Victor Martín to capture the win. The catcher socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Barnstormers ahead, 5-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Watkins.
