With 4-2 Win, Fisher Cats Go to 21-13
|
The 4-2 New Hampshire win over Lancaster was due in large part to Mark Leavitt. The Fisher Cats center fielder went 2-4 with 2 home runs. The winning pitcher was Charlie Zens. He tossed 84 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits. Ashton Rial nailed down his 3rd save.
With New Hampshire leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Leavitt hit a splitter from Colt Moeller for a solo home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Fisher Cats ahead, 2-0.
"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Lancaster manager Gustavo Resendiz. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
The win boosted New Hampshire to 21-13.
